MYKONOS: Island Time...
on the chicest (yet still pretty laid back) of all the greek isles. Mykonos is now easier than ever to enjoy with the euro at record lows and new flights this year to Greece from Canada.
My suggestion is to go right now (maybe to avoid the G20?), or July or September. I would suggest you avoid August as that is when all the Euros descend on this little cycladic island and that’s when...

The Good Neighbour Espresso Bar
is the type of cafe I wish I had in my neighbourhood. Alas I do not, however the residents of Toronto’s Junction are lucky to have this cool cafe in their hood. A guy can dream can’t he? ;)

Juvet Landscape Hotel
Located 5 hours north of Oslo, Juvet is the world’s first “landscape” hotel. It’s more like 7 really cool individual cabins (designed by Jensin and Skodviin) deep in the Norwegian wilderness. The pure mountain water spa is an added incentive to make the trek!
This is what I need right NOW!

RETROJET: Finnish Airlines
was founded in 1923 making it one of the world’s oldest airlines. Now known as FINNAIR they recently had one of their Airbus A319’s decked out in their 1950’s colour scheme. I like.
Finnair does fly from Toronto to Helsinki a few times a week in the summer if you wanna check that baby out!

TORONTO: Woofstock 2010
bills itself as the “largest festival for dogs in all of North America.” I guess that means there are more than a few slightly “crazy” people dressing up little Gucci and Theo right? Well in any case it usually is lots of fun - if you love dogs that is. Do not? Stay far away….this event takes over the St. Lawrence Hood this weekend June 12-13.

LONDON: Exposed. Voyeurism, Surveillance and the...
opened at the TATE MODERN on May 28th and is on view until October 3. This exhibition takes a look at all the ways that yours and my privacy can be breeched whether by both amateur and professional photographers, companies and governments.
It’s pretty ironic that this show is taking place in the city with probably the most spied on population outside North Korea (or pre-1989 East...

How does it feel
To treat me like you do When you’ve laid laid your hands upon me And told me who you are I thought I was mistaken I thought I heard your words Tell me how do I feel Tell me now how do I feel Those who came before me Lived through their vocations From the past until completion They will turn away no more And I still find it so hard To say what I need to say But I’m quite...

Voulez Vous Cafe
Queen Street East is indie espresso central these days with more premium cafes than you can hit in one day. The latest addition to the hood recently opened on the far eastern edge of Leslieville. VOULEZ VOUS CAFE took over when the previous tenant (also an indie cafe) packed up and left. Very minor interior changes where made but I must say that the espresso and latte’s made with beans...

OTTAWA: POP LIFE
ART IN A MATERIAL WORLD has already pissed off Heritage Minister James Moore (big surprise!) so that’s yet one more reason to check it out when it hits Ottawa. Opening at the NATIONAL GALLERY OF CANADA on 11 June and running until September 19, this is the sole North American stop for this exhibition which was recently shown at London’s Tate Modern.
Featuring 250 pieces of work from...

BARCELONA: The city that Antoni Gaudi built
well not totally, but Senyor Gaudi more than put his mark on it that’s for damn sure! This is a city that really came into it’s own in the last part of the last century after a fresh scrub for the 1992 Olympics and now its a fully formed + exciting multi-cultural metropolis obsessed with eating, shopping and design. It’s also one of Europe’s most under-rated gems yet it...
